Over 53 years ago the founders of the Greentown Athletic Club (GAC) realized the need for a facility where the boys and girls of their community could come together, be equipped, and play sports. Sports have always been a way for kids to learn teamwork, dedication and build self-esteem. The founding fathers had the foresight to come up with a way to make these sports programs self-sufficient.

The non-profit bingo operations were started as a way to acquire funds to maintain the fields, buildings, player uniforms, etc. The GAC has developed into a program which includes five baseball/softball fields, two football fields, a bingo hall, pavilion, concession stand and various outbuildings.

Approximately 100 boys and girls particpate in baseball & softball every year. Those programs, combined with a generous scholarship program and a long history of community support through donations, make the GAC a great community organization.

In 2014 the Greentown Athletic Club was inducted into the inagural class of the North Canton Hoover Athletic Hall of Fame. That honor was shared with
inductees: Jeff Logan, Dick Snyder, Walt Tolarchyk, Jamie Rubis, Tim Powell, Butch Paquin, Ray Swope, Dick Miller, Janet Baughman Peare & Don Hertler Sr. This was a great honor for GAC and emphasizes the dedication of it's members. We are also proud members of The Hoover Hall of Distinction.
